Looking to come back to AOE3 again... again.

Post by Navarone_Guy »

Hey everyone (although I doubt many people still remember me).

WoW's generally unfriendly community has really started to wear on me, cause frankly I think half the fun of a game comes from the people you play it with.

I've tried starting up the TAD fanpatch laucher, and I get the error message "your game is not patched to 1.1a" or something to that effect. I open up AOE to try and patch it up so I get an error saying I can't connect to ESO, although I can connect to anything else without a hitch.

Anyone know what the problem could be here? I'm fairly sure I patched the game to 1.1a before I left, so I'm not sure what's up.

Hmm well not sure what the problem might be, though fan patch 1.2 came out, so nobody is playing on 1.1a anymore really.

Though welcome back

I think your folders are not aligned to your patch.

Harley coming back is very good news.

Thanks guys. :)

I'm currently going to the University of Minnesota, and having a great time.

I'll try downloading and installing FP 1.2, so hopefully I'll be online tonight!

Edit: Damn, so I downloaded the fan patch and that's all well and good, but I still can't connect to ESO. It says nothing more than "Cannot connect to ESO", although I can connect to any other game and any website.

Is it Vista or Windows 7, I'm a PC noob, but maybe it isn't set to "Run as administrator"

Just a random shot in the dark

Well, I'm still on my old ghetto laptop, so I'm running XP. I can't find my vanilla CD to install AOE3 on my shiny, sexy new laptop. (No, it's not actually sexy)

Firewall issue? Have you changed/updated your firewall software?

Good to see you back! :-)

I don't think I've altered my firewall since I left. Let me try turning it off and trying to log back in.

Edit: Still no good... ::/

What antivirus are you running? That could be causing the issue.
