A bug was discovered in Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties following the release of patch 1.01. A French home city card lowers the Church building cost to a negative number, so that a player can receive wood for placing a Church. Exploiting this bug in games is subject to a ban from online play.
We are working on a fix for some bugs, including this one, and we will be releasing a 1.01a patch for The Asian Dynasties, hopefully as soon as next week. Saved and recorded games using the 1.01 patch will not be compatible with the game once it has been updated to 1.01a.
That is the situation at the moment, we'll do our best to keep you updated on an ETA for patch 1.01a as we get closer to having it finalized.
Be safe guys, don't even have the card in your deck until it is fixed. I'd hate to see anyone from the clan getting a ban for something silly like this.

Usually nobody though thr cheap church card of french is a team card and they discussed how it can be exploited esp. with Brits in the team.
Well but this discusion was more hypothetical since the ones who discussed it won't use it
Question: How much wood does one receive by building a church?
Possible answer Nº1: 1-200 wood received. Wow that would b awesome. I waste an entire card for absolutly nothing since the cost of a church is 200 wood anyways. Yay now I get cheap upgrades and so does my team, they´ll luv me 4 it!
Possible answer Nº2: 201-OO wood received. Just goes to show how much beta time 1.01 got from the dev´s. Just goes to show what we already know about ESO.

They had a team of "expert players" playtest this also. None of them caught it before release... My guess is it's not a card that's played very often, and nobody thought of it. They SHOULD have thought to check every card that reduced the cost of any building when they reduced the wood cost to build any building.
The problem is: ES didn't make everything what reduces cost consistently. Some cards are really reducing the costs by a certain percentage and with this card it is the problem that it reduces the cost by 200 wood or so and not by percentage as the designer should have done it. so if u build the churech 200 wood are deducted which makes 100+
me and harley were discussing this earlier, before the ban notes were released. Nobody ever used that card, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem, with exceptions to those wanting to win at any cost, even putting their account on the line.
I hope ES only bans people who clearly exploit this. Realistically how many people read news on forums who play online? Not many -- then further subdivide that by how many read this specific news and you have even fewer.
