India
Right I am finally for the first time ever going to try a new civ. When TWC came out I barely touched any of the new civs, (I still have never played the Aztecs)
I've decided I need to change and I've heard India are a good civ to try. Now all I know is their unts (obviously for counters) and that there villis cost wood. After that at I'm at a blank. It took me 10 minutes how to work out how to advance when I tried China for the first time ops: Any help no matter how obvious is really appreciated i.e. best cards to have, best strat etc etc
Cheers

Re: India
Zams are my favorite unit too. But, I stink at the game, so don't take my word for it.
From all I can read, Sepoy + Sowars in Colonial is very strong.
I wish I had the time to find out for myself.

I always find shipping 700f, 600w or 600c more handy than 300 export tho.

Re: India
India has a villager shipped with most HC cards, but they suffer a penalty in earning shipments (like the Germans). However, this can easily be overcome by capturing as many herdables on the map as possible and tasking them to the unique India structure, Sacred Field. You can either build a SF or have one shipped from your HC. Four cows on the SF will counter your shipment penalty. However, if you have more than 4 cows, your shipments will start coming at an accelerated pace.
India is a fun civ to play, with nice unit choices and an interesting economy. Good Luck and Have Fun!

700F and 600C should be in the deck as well, but i never had 600W in it and i was never in a situation where i wished i could send it now. Going for the consulate early on gives you a big advantage. But ok, depends on your playstyle and what fits to it.

I agree that India sounds interesting. I wouldn't even try to play a game with them until I'd watched some decent recs first. As villagers cost wood the split of resource gathering will be very different and easy to get very wrong!

Re: India
Cheers for the help guys I'm going to spend a few hours tonight watching Indian recs and then might try this 10/10 rush first against the AI, and then in some un-rated matches.

Yeah, when I played, I never had a problem with food or wood, but always seemed to lag behind on the gold gathering. I never seemed to have enough.
