At my level (ltnt) not so many iro players around. 1/2 games is vs Japan. So mayby someone should take up this BO.

Heh, thanks I have very high success rate with it.

Soccer, Iro booms and lives through cards. You got 3v card, 4 kanya card that is very good, 6 tomas which is good too (they cost wood, dont forget that), 7+6 aennas are amazing with boosted stats (even before they were good, but shush), 5+4 vills to let you boom. This make iro balanced, and if you get the cards fast you can outspam, outeco and outplay way easily than without the tp. Market sucks early on, ive tried it and it slows you down when rushing. 150 w means 1 longhouse and wood for 1 toma.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I noticed that aennas have a X2 multiplier against HI. That is unique for all archers (except some trade post natives, I think).

early market is good when you set up for an boom and age up slow with the resources so you can get the first wood upgrade as well (DAMNIT does that often)

Different style from mine (perhaps better, who knows ). I dunno too well how his iros are supposed to work, it's different. He doesn't rush or raid or apply pressure i think.

This Iro stuff has me intrigued; I might even start experimenting with them soon ::/

I watched a great Iro rec featuring Starsky. He doesn't do a fast rush, but he puts together a really well-balanced army quickly, booms a bit then moves in. He starts with market upgrades. As soon as he ages to colonial, he does the Iroquois scouting party for 6 tomas. Meanwhile he has 5 Kanyas queued from a stable he built with his travois. Then he sends 7 aenna and queues some more tomas. That force can handle any opponent and has all the right elements: anti-HI; anti-cav; anti-LI. Along with the warchief HP boost and good micro, can you lose?? :roll:

Here's a question for you warchiefs players: How do you keep your warchief with your army but at a safe distance behind the fighting? Standground mode? Do you put him in a control group along with RI or something?

starsky is absolutely amasing, and his playstyle rox too

Depends.

If I'm up against skirm type units I might throw him into my opponent to force them into melee mode.

If I've upgraded him with the age 1 WC card, or aged with the WC poly, I'm even more lightly to let him engage in the battles with my army. He can mop up quite a bit of damage.

If you're worried about getting him killed, sticking him in cover mode helps. If he moves towards your opponent he won't move as fast so you're more lightly to catch him before him commits suicide. But, remember, you can always resurrect him at the firepit should he die.

If the armies are bigger though, or he has low HP, then yea I'll keep him a little behind my army in standground mode to mop up that XP.

As for hot keys, I know you can select him with '/', but, I tend to put my WC as the '4' key. Then, I put Maces as '1', Pumas as '2', and Coyotes as '3'. The '4' key is closer to 1,2,3 so I can hit it more instinctively than the '/' key.

I never use hotkey's if I'm being honest. I don't even use control groups. The ol' fashioned double click is enough for me. The only hotkeys I may occaisonally use is T and V, and / to find my explorer.

Wow, that's impressive. I can't live without my hotkeys OR my control groups! I just got in the habit, I guess :-P

It's kinda hard and not the best choice to pull off in 1v1. MrMilo is the only person i've seen use a straight FF and it was with a turtle in team games -- at which point he went straight to Oprichniks and just murdered the other team.
