N3O Age Of Empires and Starcraft 2 Clan

Hi guys. Have you ever tried to hit-n-run your opponent with skirms, but instead of firing they walk right into the enemy, go into melee THEN turn around and run? Have you ever ordered your pikes to retreat when enemy ranged inf comes into view, but instead they march right toward them, take a volley THEN finally retreat? Have you ever ordered your cav to attack a few different units, but instead they run into each other while the enemy withdraws, then get shot? Uhlans are especially good at dying; one false move and they are toast. The bottom line is that LAG CAN WRECK YOUR MICRO! I can't tell you the number of times I have given the right order, but my computer (or my bandwidth) delays effect for one critical second, leading to the maddening results described above.

Has anyone else encountered "lag-induced micro horror?" If you have, I'd love to hear about it, and what you did to help the problem. Is there anything I can do about it besides buying a first-class new Alienware computer with a $1500 graphics card?

lag kills the fun for me
upgrading your machine won't always help, usually it's some random guy with an UP grandpa modem screwing up things.
try lowering your settings and see what that does.

the worst is Abus guns in lag they think run away means do a suicide run into cav.

When it is a laggy game after a while I kinda get used to it and adjust the clicks.

Yeah this buggers me up loads so I just give up on micro and spam more troops then it don't matter if your micro suxs.

Ha ha, that always does it. I feel like the only time I can properly micro in real time is during a 1v1 against the comp :-P That is about the only time my clicks correspond to immediate action.

Another good point. When I did QS with Russia, I won simply by massing more muskets, strelets and cossacks than the other guy. And that was before I knew about attack-move!
