Those little things...

Are there any non-game related things that affect your gameplay? Maybe you play better when the wife isn't at home? Or maybe that beer in hand makes you micro all the better? Just curious... I personally would swear by the fact that having Mountain Dew in the vicinity gives me +3 or 4 to PR.

Thoughts?

When you are running a decent computer and not a cardboard box I tend to micro without lag

Holding a screaming baby takes a little of that edge off of my game. :D

When I'm cold and shivering I cannot focus properly.

Also when I'm feeling stressed I play very poorly.

When its cold or there is too much noise about i.e. when I have my tv/xbox/music blaring as well as 15 guys on vent makes it kinda hard too hear all the warning sounds and I usually become very slow to respond to flares and warning sounds. I suppose I could turn these things off but 15 player rooms in vent is worth the drop in skill.

I don't have the problem with nagging because I just ignore them nodding every once in a while and saying uh-huh until they go away. ;)

apart from having to play on a very mediocre laptop (instead of the high-end pc i had at home) on a desk with no flat surface and no mouse-mat while internet lags half the time and some colors can hardly be seen ingame and most infantry units all look the same, I think the chinese ricewine sure helps killing the last few micro skills I had
PR10 on a good day now :D

Listening to my Ipod while playing. I've been doing it non-stop lately and it's not really a good idea.

most of the time i play at my fullest, but sometimes i get bothered by family who keep bumping in.
when i'm not motivated, i don't even start aoe3, and when drunk, never!

you will always meet me on ESO with a 100% clear mind :-)

Let's see, if it's between the hours of 12 AM and 11:59 PM, and it's either light or dark, or is a day ending in Y, my game suffers....

When I'm bored or with a headache I play like crap. Listening to music is fine for unrated games or for fun, but when you really have to focus it screws up everything.
