The thing i've noticed about Brig ++ players...

Over the course of time I've come to learn some things are almost inevitable in the gaming world. Today subject is players in the 38++ bracket. This is a pretty elite group containing top 30 players in the world.
Just as the sun will rise tomorrow, I will be punished for any mistakes whatsoever that I make when playing the 38 ++ group.
One misclick? Punished.
Unguarded vils? Punished.
Short 5 pikeman? Punished.
Forget a veteran upgrade? Punished.
It seems that you can't get away with anything playing guys in this category. Virtually every single mistake one makes results in punishment. It's much less rare that a captain will punish me for the same mistakes -- but on the days that they do -- they are the days I loose to captains.
Just my 2 cents.

The thing I've noticed about them is that they are elitist and arrogant. Not all of them, but they truely think they are special because they click faster than the rest of us.

One thing I notice as well is that to match their speed you have to go on a crazy adrenaline rush while making sure you don't make the wrong decisions on a short period of time too, they do this without breaking a sweat :\

Nice observations, Drew. I'm too old to even hope to match these whipper-snappers' clicking speeds, so I don't even try.
It's actually kind of "too bad" that supreme mastery in this game boils down to clicking speed and command lag. The most intelligent guy with the solid strats won't necessarily win; the fresh-minded kid with lightning fingers will win every time.
At my age, I recognize my limitations and spectate/commentate more than play.

Well for me I would need to get a caffine or a major sugar rush just to get to the skills of a captain

Faster clicking hardly means playing bette! Its faster EVERYTHING. This includes clicking, but also includes draging a specific Nº of units and giving that group orders ( be it flanking, running away and drawing fire or actually attacking!). This is micro (hence small organizational skills).
Speed is essential and is necessary to any top notch player, regardless of the game. However, I truly believe that what the diference between a Captn and aBrig is DECISION making. Naturally pressure and adrenaline dont help ur decision making. This is Sportings point. They simply "dont break a sweat". When to raid, when to retreat, when to scout and where are all decisions that the "brigs" make alot better than the rest of us. Fulfilling those decisions is what keeps their PR intact.

And of course, some of them are crappy point traders....

Very good point Lazy, the macro is in my opinion much more important. Of all the expert recs I watched, hardly anyone used the avoid-reloading-villager trick. Queue the first villager at 6 seconds into the game? They're happy to queue their first at 10. They don't even bother to put all vills on food crates. Knowing what to do, how to win, makes you an OP player. I doubt I would beat iamgrunt if the game was 50% slower for me. Well maybe my micro would be better and I would see raids coming. Ok maybe 50% is a little too much. But he would have more units and you win with units

Rofl, 50% slower for you but the same speed for him.
He will lag and you won't

in this game, i say experience is the true value. couple that with a decent amount of speed of course.
i think that there is not that much of a great margin between the players, in other games this is far more extreme,
here drew could win against a top player after like 10-15 tries, in a game like wc3 no chance at all, you can play 1000 times you won't win a single one if you're not a top playe yourself ofc
the harder a game is to play, the more skilled players are there.
i heard the best guys left this game in early 2006.. so hardly half a year
that is the reason why sc, counterstrike and wc3 are present at every WCG or every tournament, it was really a nice chance for aoe3 to be in WCG 2 times

This is the reason I cannot advance. I can't play like a machine. I play like a Kaiser, and Kaisers are human (and wear lots of medallions, decorations and have fancy moustaches

).
