hey drew,
at the very start you talked about the "extractor trick".
do you do that so you have 1 pop less while building it, to queue a drone then you cancel it to get the drone back?
i've seen it from some players but wondered why they would do it

btw i have to say your play is pretty damn good and your mechanics just seem to have manifested even now.. damn you :-P

Thanks Aaryn. Here is how the ET (extractor trick) works.

You build 10 drones. Build an extractor, this puts you down to 9/10 supply, you que another drone, then cancel the extractor. This puts you 11/10 supply. You get charged 9 minerals for cancelling it, but so long as your drone is able to gather for a few seconds, its worth it. You have to be quick with the timing for it to work.

If you are not as quick, I would just go 9 drones, then overlord, then keep droning up. Unless your doing some 6 or 10 pool build.

What i've seen the best players do is either the extractor trick or 10 overlord and 3 drones right after it finishes. The extractor trick gives you a slightly better economy if you do it right, but still, the difference is pretty small.
