N3O Age Of Empires and Starcraft 2 Clan

Hey guys, I wanted to play AoE2 with a friend of mine, we tried to use direct IP like in AOE3 or AOM, but it didn't find anything. We both tried hosting but no luck, any tips?
PS: We were using the non-HD version.

You might need to set up a virtual LAN with Hamachi first.

U don't need a virtual lan for direct IP. U just have to use the LAN function and enter the IP of the host of the game. The host needs to tell his public IP to the other players

So... I instead of TCP/IP I use the Lan option and then enter the IP?I'll try it later, thanks.

Yea, I was aware of that however, we tried voobly first which refused to log him him citing connection issues(though his connection was fine), so he was a bit reluctant to try gameranger. But thankfully, I was able to persuade him to try it (a while after I posted here) and we had our game
