Well, I never would have believed it, but today the word "uhlan" appeared in a book I'm reading by the great Fyodor Dostoevsky ("The Eternal Husband"). Who ever thought that uhlans were so popular?
Check this out:
"One lady, who got out of a second-class car and was remarkably pretty, but somehow too magnificently dressed for a traveler, almost dragged with her, in both hands, an UHLAN, a very young and handsome little officer, who was trying to tear free of her grip. The young uhlan was very tipsy."
Young drunken uhlans going out with beautiful women... does it get any better than this???

Ahahahah, I guess she was a villager that he took as a hostage instead of killing when he was raiding Moscow.

Hmmm, tipsy uhlans. I guess that explains their pathing problems. Perhaps all of the heavy cavalry are a bit drunk in AoE3.
Cheers

Ah Doestovsky. Probably the greatest writer ever born.
He HAD to put Uhlans in there. I mean come on, strelets are terrified of them.

I agree. He's been a huge influence on me ever since college. I just picked up this new short story collection and it's just great.
